What did you want to be when you grew up?
I think for me it was a teacher or a nurse. That's what women did, right?
As I continued on the journey of life and school I thought about becoming a doctor, accountant, international business worker, and attorney.
But then as school ended and I graduated from college I had no idea. I had worked through my college years and at the time I was working for a trucking company when one of the bosses asked for volunteers. I had no idea what I was volunteering to do. It turned out to be the career path I would take.
I started working in the legal field in 2000. That was nearly 19 years ago now. I thought that this would be what I would do until I retired. But it did not sit well with me.
The first time I heard about a multi-level marketing company was when I was a kid. It was Amway. My parents took part in Amway for a while using the cleaning products and other things. It apparently still exists! I was a child when I first heard about "pyramid scheme" as well! Apparently Amway was investigated as a pyramid scheme but it turned out that it was not. Pretty sure my parents gave up on it before the investigation ended.
Sometime around 2008 I started to hear about being a coach for Beachbody. If you are not aware, Beachbody is a health and fitness company that distributes, at the time, nutrition supplements and DVD fitness workouts. I paid no attention to it... Jump forward several years and I am starting to gain weight and looking for something different. I had never completed a fitness program before, but I loved the Beachbody workouts. So I went out and searched. I also saw the infomercial for Insanity Max 30. See I had no desire to do an hour long workout, nor did I think I had the time. I received my DVD set - the basic package and started to look at the materials. I wanted to be sure I followed the nutrition and when I saw that my sources for protein (as a vegetarian) where considered carbs I was like - oh no! So I went out on the Team Beachbody message boards and asked a question. That's when I met my coach.

She introduced me to support groups. And what I saw was a potential for me to help other people! See a little backstory on me, a motto in life is that a healthy, educated society is a happy society! Health including exercise, proper nutrition and education on what that is. I feel like we as a society had lost sight of that.
My coach asked me to become a coach since I was basically doing what she did, supporting others in the group. That's basically what we are as a coach - we support others with their health goals.
I had an excuse of no time... see I was a perfectionist and if I did not have the time to do it, how could it be perfect?!?!?!?
Finally, I decided to do it. I took the leap. I wanted to help people with their health goals. I had no idea what was in store for me as well.
My life changed.
Just a few months into this new business of mine, my mom told me she had ALS. A few months later I found myself as her caregiver. A few months later my younger sister was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. It's hard to run a business when your emotions are exhausted. But, I kept up the consistency. I knew more than ever this was what I wanted.
My reason for becoming a coach changed with these new events. The personal development I was reading/listening to helped me change from a perfectionist. Life helped with that too. I suddenly did not care about certain things as I did before. Losing your mom and sister to terminal illnesses within 3 weeks of each other will do that to you.

My why now for my business is this. I want to grow a team of like minded wellness warriors who want to change the world person by person and help them live their life to their fullest, BECAUSE, no day is promised. And if you want to be healthy, NOW is the time to do it!
I realize this business could change my life and the lives of others! It could help us get healthy, but also could give us a little financial freedom.
Yes, it takes work! OMG nothing worth having does not come with work. Yes, I have failed at things and I have learned from my mistakes and I keep moving on.
What I love about Team Beachbody is that each and every coach is a different, unique person with a story to tell! We all have a story to tell. The more of life we have behind us the more we have to tell and when we tell our story we help others.

I have heard Beachbody be called a pyramid scheme. It is not. It was never my concern. We as coaches are independent distributors of Beachbody products. We make money off the products, not recruiting! (which is how a pyramid scheme works). The best part about this company is you do not have to buy the products to sell. You refer your clients to your Beachbody website and Beachbody ships directly to them! I think that is awesome.
So, am I a nurse, teacher, doctor, business person, accountant - Not really, but as a Health coach I help people, teach people and run a business myself. So that little girl inside me is happy!
I never thought I would find an opportunity that would allow me to leave a traditional job. But that world is changing and the job opportunities are changing.
If you are ready for a change. If you are willing to work hard. If you want to get healthy and help others with their health goals... Team Beachbody may be the opportunity you need!
