Let's Move More - Our Hearts want us too


February is heart month. Heart disease is a major issue in our country and one of the reasons I am

somewhat obsessed with my own health and with helping others. Did you know people with Diabetes, that are over weight and obese, that eat poorly, lack physical activity and drink alcohol excessively have a higher risk of developing heart disease?


One of my core health beliefs is in prevention. You CAN prevent some health issues like heart disease by leading a healthy lifestyle.


Someone said to me the other day not to make someone feel guilty. I am not trying to make anyone feel guilty! I just want you to be aware of the choices you make. I believe regular exercise and eating well are ways to help you live to your fullest potential. Exercise can really show you what your potential is! It's just a matter of making the right choice.


A good starting goal is at least 150 minutes a week, but if you are not doing anything right now that can seem daunting! So just start moving more. Once you find the type of exercise you like, stick with and and slowly you will realize you want to be active and add more activity to your daily routine.

There are many reasons people suddenly decide to change their lives and start living a healthier lifestyle. But it can be a tough start and you can fall into bad habits easily if you don't have the right community to help and support you.


If you are already living a somewhat healthier life, having a community is another way to support your personal growth.

When I made the decision to really start being mindful of what I was eating, to make sure I was getting exercise and also feeding my mind, I never thought I would be writing a blog about it!
